Iranian authorities have released four political dissidents from jail over a period of two days, the wife of a jailed activist said.
Marzieh Mortazi Langroudi also said authorities had told the families of “three or four” other jailed activists to prepare bail for their imminent release.
Mahmoud Omrani, Hossein Rafeei, Ali-Reza Rajeei and Masoud Pedram were arrested during security crackdowns in March and April and later charged with trying to overthrow Iran’s Islamic establishment. All were freed, said Langroudi, whose husband, Habibollah Peyman, remains in custody.
