Stepmother Arrested in 3-Year-Old’s Death

A woman is being held on $1-million bail on suspicion of killing her 3-year-old stepdaughter, police said.
Genara Valle, 33, of North Hollywood was arrested Wednesday night for the possible beating death of Maria Mejia.
Paramedics sent to the home on Califa Street about 7:45 p.m. had the girl airlifted to a hospital, where she died.
