Police Report Backfires

Call it what it is--a lie. When Police Chief Bernard Parks signed a report to the Police Commission that whitewashed a police shooting (“Police Panel Wasn’t Given Full Facts in Gunfire Case,” Aug. 7), he deliberately undermined the commission in its duty to determine if police shootings are “in policy.” Parks continues to stop police reform. Mayor James Hahn and his new Police Commission members have an opportunity to act when Parks’ contract is up next year. Chief Parks has got to go.
