Man Sentenced for Unlicensed Dentistry

A man who allegedly practiced dentistry in South Los Angeles for 20 years without a license was sentenced Thursday to perform community service and pay $1,800 in restitution.
Ronald Herbert Woods, 68, pleaded no contest Thursday to one count of practicing dentistry without a license. As part of his plea agreement in Los Angeles Superior Court, he will have the option of serving 45 days on a California Department of Transportation work crew or performing 450 hours of other community service.
He was also placed on three years’ probation and ordered to pay $1,800 to dentists who corrected work he performed on two patients.
