Australian Women One Win from Gold

Defending women’s champion Australia clinched a spot in the gold-medal game with a 5-0 victory over the Netherlands.
Spain tied New Zealand, 2-2, to move into a tie with Argentina at six points for second place in medal-pool play.
Australia has an insurmountable 10 points, qualifying it for the championship game. Argentina and Spain are tied for second with six points.
Argentina’s youngest player, 19-year-old Agustina Garcia, scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over China, which is also in the running for a spot in the final four. Argentina can clinch a spot in the final four with a victory over New Zealand, which is in last place in the medal-pool play with three points.
In men’s competition, Australia defeated South Korea, 2-1, and Canada tied with Malaysai, 1-1.
