The Republican County Unfair

* Re “Democrats Upbeat About O.C. Prospects” (Aug. 13):
Having attended the Orange County Fair and seen the Republicans’ high-profile booth just inside the doorway of one of the main exhibition halls--and being almost unable to find the Democrats’ booth in the back and far from the entrance--I got the impression that the county of Orange was certainly on the side of the Republican Party.
When I was there, no fairgoer could get through the main entrance of that hall without being accosted by three Republican gals who were constantly on their feet trying to buttonhole everyone of voting age that came through that doorway.
One wonders if the next step by the county will be to issue a memo asking all their employees to vote Republican.
