65 New Homes to Be Auctioned Over Internet Beginning Next Week

Westwood-based Kaufman & Broad, one of the nation’s largest home builders, will auction 65 new homes over the Internet beginning at 2 p.m. Oct. 29. The homes, located in Castaic, Chino, Fontana, Hemet and seven other Southern California cities, feature two to six bedrooms and two to three bathrooms.
Minimum selling prices range from $95,000 to $339,000. Some of the homes are ready for immediate occupancy, while others will be completed by Nov. 30. All of the homes are covered by a 10-year limited warranty.
Internet bidders are required to visit one of the communities involved in the auction by Thursday to register for the online event. Those planning to bid in person may register on auction day at the Hilton Ontario Airport Hotel in Ontario.
“The advantage to online bidding is that people can bid on more than one property at the same time,” said Jay Moss, Kaufman and Broad’s regional general manager for the greater Los Angeles area.
“Then, if they don’t get their first choice, they’re still in the ballgame for their second choice.”
