The Westside Community Council will host a Dia de los Muertos celebration beginning at sundown with a procession. The event, which combines Catholic ritual with an indigenous Mexican festival honoring the dead, will include ballet folklorico performances, dramatic works, food and more.

Family Adventure
The Young Artists Ensemble will open C.S. Lewis’ classic tale “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” Friday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The production will feature a new score by local composer Christopher Hoag. The 30 cast members range in age from 10 to 19.

Musical Kicks
Cabrillo Music Theatre will open Cole Porter’s “Anything Goes” Friday at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. The musical, set aboard a 1930s transatlantic steamship, features such memorable scores as “Easy to Love,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow” and “I Get a Kick Out of You.”

Marching Bands
High school bands from across the state will compete Saturday in the third annual Thousand Oaks High School Band and Color Guard Field Tournament at Moorpark College. The event will be held over a seven-hour period, and spectators are welcome to attend at any time.
