Santa Ana, Cypress Win Softball Regional Finals

Santa Ana had 11 hits and Wendi Kralich pitched a four-hitter to help the Dons defeat second-seeded Fullerton, 8-1, in a community college softball regional final Sunday at Fullerton.
Santa Ana and Cypress, which defeated Pasadena, 3-0, in another regional final at Cypress, advanced to this weekend’s state tournament at Fresno State.
Ana Velasquez had three hits and drove in a run for Santa Ana (29-14). Fullerton, which defeated Grossmont, 2-1, in an elimination game, ended 39-8.
Lisa Monreal pitched a two-hitter and Koral King had two stolen bases and a run for the Chargers (32-13-2), the three-time defending state champions.
