A 600-foot portion of Salt Creek and Monarch beaches has reopened, following a spill of 300 gallons of raw sewage into the ocean from a storm-drain pipeline.
The spill on April 26 was caused by rags and roots clogging a South Coast Water District line, according to the Orange County Health Care Agency.
The closure was the seventh in the city this year. The Orange County Health Agency takes weekly samples from the area.
