Murdock Not Expected Back

Point guard Eric Murdock, on the injured list since Feb. 23, is expected to be sidelined the rest of the season after recent tests revealed a bone spur in his left ankle.
“In the next two or three days I’ll know if I am going to have surgery,” said Murdock, who has played in only 40 games after being acquired last summer in a trade with the New Jersey Nets. “I have to see exactly where the pain is coming from.”
To say this has been a disappointing season for Murdock would be an understatement.
“It makes me feel a lot better to find out what the problem was,” he said. “You have people doubting you on how severe your injury is. If I could have came back, I would have came back. But every time I tried to come back on the floor, my body just wouldn’t allow me.”
