The worn and faded wall along La Paz Road and Paseo de Valencia will have a fresh look after Volunteer Connection Day on April 8.
The volunteer day is commonly celebrated across the nation with Earth Day on April 22, said Quinn Connolly, community services coordinator for the city.
“It’s a day we use to beautify the city and increase the spirit of volunteerism,” Connolly said. “It’s worked well in the city.”
Residents and volunteer groups will join city staff to give the block wall a fresh look with about 100 gallons of white paint.
The privately owned wall, which lines the backyards of homes along the two streets, was chosen because it had become an eyesore for residents.
Residents and groups can volunteer for Volunteer Connection Day by calling City Hall at (949) 707-2600.
