Guard Depth at Season Low
Eric Murdock is on the injured list. Troy Hudson still has stomach problems and Lamar Odom missed practice this week because of a nagging right shoulder injury.
That leaves seldom-used Charles Jones and newly acquired Jeff McInnis as the Clippers’ only sound point guards against Cleveland today.
Although interim Coach Jim Todd expects Hudson and Odom to play, he said he will not hesitate to use Jones, a former NCAA scoring champion, and McInnis, who signed a 10-day contract last week.
For McInnis, it will be his first extended action with the Clippers after spending the season playing in the Continental Basketball Assn.
“I’m ready to play,” McInnis said. “I want to try and bring energy when I get in there.”
