200 Feet of Beach Shut in Dana Point

The beach 100 feet on each side of the flood-control channel at Capistrano State Beach in Dana Point has been closed to swimmers because of a sewage spill, the Orange County Health Care Agency announced Monday.
The beach, agency spokesman Larry Honeybourne said in a recorded announcement, will be closed “until further notice” when bacterial levels reach acceptable levels.
Honeybourne could not be reached late Monday for further details about the spill, which the agency said was caused by a blocked sewage line.
