School’s Feat Left Off the List

* Re “Now, Reading Makes Cents,” June 4:
I was excited to read how different schools encouraged students to read this year in their attempts to create a love of reading and receive $5,000 from Gov. Gray Davis.
I was very disappointed to see that my child’s school was not included on the list of recipients.
I realize that only the top five schools per county were included. I just think it is a shame that there is room to print test scores for all schools, crime statistics for all cities.
But when something positive comes along, only the five top schools in the county are included.
All the schools that worked and reached the goal of fostering a love of reading and being one of the top 400 schools in the state should be recognized.
