Net Income Increase Reported by Variflex

Variflex Inc. in Moorpark reported net income of $406,000, or 8 cents per basic and diluted share, on revenue of $17.1 million for the three months that ended April 30. That’s an increase from the same quarter of last year, when the company reported net income of $318,000, or 6 cents per share, on revenue of $10.3 million.
Variflex is a wholesaler and distributor of in-line skates, skateboards, recreational safety helmets and athletic protective equipment.
The company also sells a portable instant canopy, snowboards and related accessories, and the Airzone “spring-less” trampoline. The company designs the products, which are then manufactured by independent contractors.
