Man Killed Stopping Fight Between Girlfriend, Father

PANORAMA CITY — A man was shot to death as he tried to break up a fight between his girlfriend and her father Thursday night, police said.
The woman’s 55-year-old father was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said. Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Ed Funes said he could not immediately provide the names of the suspect or the victim, described as a man in his 20s.
Funes said the shooting occurred about 5:45 p.m. in an apartment in the 9800 block of Vesper Avenue.
