Savanna Unified School District has told the city it cannot build a skateboard park on district property, Mayor Al Ethans said. The Community Services Commission had recommended the Stanton Municipal Tennis Courts--property that is owned by the district--as a possible site for building a park.
Ethans said despite the setback, the city won’t abandon its commitment to building a skateboard park and will continue searching for an appropriate site. “We’re not giving up. We need something in our city,” Ethans said.
