The Bixby Ranch Co. was given the green light to remove 68 of 227 eucalyptus trees from the Old Ranch Towne Center construction site. The proposal had been approved by the Planning Commission, but that ruling was appealed. The council denied the appeal at its meeting Monday. The trees will be removed to make room for entrances to the shopping center being built east of Seal Beach Boulevard and north of Lampson Avenue.
