Troops Reportedly Hit Back at Militants

Algerian troops attacked the hide-outs of Islamic militants amid violence by the rebels that has killed 31 people in four days, newspapers reported. Twenty-eight militants have died in the army’s offensive in the Jijel region east of the capital, Algiers, the El Watan daily said. The militants have attacked civilians and soldiers as part of a campaign of terror to establish a fundamentalist regime.
