If you discover your home has been burglarized:

* Call the police immediately.

* Do not hang up the phone until you are told to do so by the responding officer.

* If you use a pay telephone, tape some change to the bottom of the instrument for use in emergency.

* Lock all doors and ask all witnesses to remain until the officer arrives.

* Write down descriptions of the robbers and other pertinent information as soon as possible.

* Protect the scene of the crime. Don’t touch anything.

* Preserve any items the robbers touched, but do not handle the evidence yourself.

* Do not discuss details of the robbery with anyone until after you have given information to the officers.
