The Grant and North Hollywood girls’ basketball teams, which have been league and conference rivals for 10 years, meet at 4 p.m. today in a Sunset Six League game at North Hollywood.
Although it has been a decade of dominance for North Hollywood, which is 14-1 against the Lancers in that span, Grant might turn the tables this season.
Each team is 13-6, 4-0 in league play.
“The girls, I know, are anticipating,” Grant Coach Steve Brumwell said. “I almost have to hold them back a little bit.”

Senior guard Leslie Mui of Grant has made 51 three-point baskets, tying a single-season school record set by guard Bahaneh Maani during the 1995-96 season.
Mui has hit 51 of 113 three-point shots (45.1%).
Senior Kathleen Mallon has made 30 of 66 (45.5%) to lead the team. The Lancers have made 104 of 256 three-pointers (40.6%) this season.

Rasheeda Gray, Monroe’s leading scorer and rebounder, missed games last week and is expected to sit out this week, too.
The 5-11 senior center, who averages 14.5 points and 11.7 rebounds, sprained her right thumb during warmups before the only Valley Mission League defeat for the Vikings (13-6, 3-1), a 44-43 loss to Kennedy (10-6, 4-0) on Jan. 14. She scored six points and had 11 rebounds, but hasn’t played since.
The Vikings have had to adjust to life without her.
“It’s all right, though,” Coach Ron Harris said. “It’s actually real good for us. Over the past couple weeks, we had started to rely on her a lot. This actually comes at a good time. We have a chance to show we’re a good team with or without her.”
