The Fullerton Public Library will get about $56,000 from the Gates Learning Foundation Grant program to upgrade computers and software. Endowed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, the program makes funds available to public libraries and schools.
The library staff applied for two grants under the program, and both were approved. The $35,252 grant will be used for a computer lab and the $20,663 grant will go toward the purchase of more Internet computers.
