Sunday: Jon Sharkey, Democratic candidate in the 37th Assembly District, will host a coffee reception at the home of Kathryn and Byron Swanson, 2887 Keats Ave., Thousand Oaks, from 3 to 5 p.m. The district also includes the cities of Port Hueneme, Oxnard, Camarillo and Moorpark. Feb. 12: Candidates in the 5th Supervisorial District will participate in a question-and-answer forum at the Oxnard Library, 251 South A St., at 10 a.m. The district includes Oxnard and portions of Port Hueneme. For information, call 983-6748.
Feb. 24: Candidates in the 1st Supervisorial District race will participate in a public forum at Anacapa Middle School cafeteria, Mills and Telegraph roads, Ventura, at 7 p.m. The district includes parts of Ojai and Oxnard and all of Ventura. For information, call 644-4238.
Feb. 28: The Camarillo Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a public forum for supervisorial candidates in District 3, which also includes the Santa Clara Valley, at Camarillo City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive, at 7 p.m. For information, call 484-4393.
