* Wells Fargo & Co. agreed to buy First Commerce Bancshares Inc. of Lincoln, Neb., for about $480 million in stock to become Nebraska’s second-largest bank by deposits. San Francisco-based Wells Fargo, which has 30 branches in Nebraska under the name Norwest Bank Nebraska, is paying $35.95 a share for First Commerce, which is Nebraska’s fourth-largest bank.
* Odwalla Inc., a maker of fruit and vegetable juices, said it agreed to acquire closely held Fresh Samantha Inc. of Saco, Maine, for about $27 million in stock to increase sales.
