Century Theatres said Thursday it will build a 20-screen movie complex as part of the extensive redevelopment of the aging Huntington Beach Mall.
Developer Ezralow Retail Property LLC is creating an upscale “Italian village” shopping center, called the Crossings at Huntington, featuring a variety of stores and high-end restaurants as well as Century’s multiplex. The new mall, off the San Diego Freeway at Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue, is expected to open in September 2002, said Ezralow president Douglas Gray.
Century, based in San Rafael, Calif., owns and operates more than 700 movie screens in 11 states.
