Which Accent Is That?

In his review of “Snatch” (“A Gem With a Flaw of Familiarity,” Dec. 6), Kenneth Turan shocked me by referring to Benicio Del Toro’s “feeble Jewish accent.”
Which “Jewish accent” would that be? The accent of a Sephardic Jew from Spain? Or the Ashkenazi Jew from Eastern Europe? The Ethiopian Jew? The Israeli Jew?
Obviously, there is no such thing as a “Jewish accent,” and I expect Turan and the copy desk at The Times to know that.
