A dozen communities in Los Angeles County will vote today on mayors, city councils, school boards and various ballot measures. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in some cities and until 8 p.m. in others.
* ARCADIA: City Council
* AVALON: Mayor, City Council, Measure A (community improvement agency extension), Measure B (approval of transient occupancy tax), Measure C (adoption of 0.5% sales tax to fund hospital services; requires two-thirds approval).
* BRADBURY: City Council
* CULVER CITY: City Council, city treasurer, Measure M (restricting building heights), Measure N (requiring experience/education for treasurer’s office), Measure O (clerk’s attendance at council meetings), Measure P (finance director’s responsibilities), Measure Q (approval of demands by council), Measure R (deleting obsolete, awkward language in the City Charter).
* LANCASTER: Mayor, City Council
* LAWNDALE: Mayor, City Council
* LONG BEACH
City Council, Board of Education, Community College District
* MALIBU: City Council, Measure A (limiting council members to two terms), Measure B (tax on parking in facilities), Measure C (advisory measure on use of parking tax revenues).
* SANTA CLARITA: City Council
* SIERRA MADRE: City Council
* WALNUT: City Council
* WHITTIER: City Council
