In the Golden West League:

Tustin 11, Ocean View 1 (5, mercy)--Ivan Ramirez worked all five innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven batters to record the win for Tustin (8-4, 4-0). Chris Hanson was three for three and scored four runs and Ryan McHale had two hits and four RBIs for the Tillers.

In the Serra League:

Mater Dei 7, St. John Bosco 4--Richard Mercado pitched six innings and struck out seven and had two hits and an RBI for visiting Mater Dei (8-4, 2-1). Teammate Scott Bolcoa had three hits and three RBIs, including a two-run double in the top of the seventh that put the Monarchs ahead by two runs.

Mater Dei’s Sergio Santos hit a two-run home run in the third, his fifth of the season.

In nonleague games:

Capistrano Valley Christian 3, La Verne Lutheran 2--Josh Emery pitched a two-hitter, giving up one earned run with seven strikeouts. Emery also had two hits including a double for the Eagles (7-3).

La Quinta 16-8, Costa Mesa 0-4--Sophomore left-hander Mike McKernan gave up four hits and no runs, struck out four and walked none for visiting La Quinta (14-0) in the first game. Shawn Cochrell had five hits and five RBIs in the doubleheader for the Aztecs. Host Costa Mesa is 5-7.
