Prosecutors Oppose McVeigh Appeal

Saying the legal system did not fail Timothy J. McVeigh, federal prosecutors in Denver opposed his death row appeal and request for a new trial in the April 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building. “Our legal system provided McVeigh a multimillion-dollar defense team to advocate his interests before an impartial judge and jury selected far from the site of his deadly crime,” Sean Connelly, special attorney to the U.S. attorney general, wrote in a brief.
