7 TONIGHT VETERANS STADIUM
The county’s top-ranked team has lost in each of the first three weeks this season, and to avoid joining that group the undefeated Griffins will look to their defense. Senior linebacker Paul Publico, the leading tackler, commands a unit that has given up only 20 points in three games. The offense, led by quarterback Mike Sanford and running back Damon Johnson, is more competent than explosive. St. John Bosco junior quarterback Gabe Trevino is back after missing a game because of a dislocated knee. Defense is also Bosco’s strong suit. The Braves shut down the Griffins’ running game last year, though Los Alamitos won, 28-21.
