Emerson Quartet to Start Coleman Season

The 1999-2000 season of Coleman Chamber Concerts, its 96th, begins Oct. 24 in Beckman Auditorium at Caltech in Pasadena with an appearance by the Emerson String Quartet. The New York Chamber soloists give the series’ Nov. 14 concert.
With a holiday program called “Baroque Christmas,” the Aulos Ensemble and Soprano Julianne Baird perform on Dec. 5. Beginning the new year, the Berlin Philharmonic Piano Quartet appears in Beckman on Jan. 23. On Feb. 6, the ensemble is one from the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
The season closes April 16 with a performance by the Skampa Quartet and guest baritone Christopheren Nomura. Information: (626) 793-4191.
