L.A. Baptist 51, St. Genevieve 0--Lord Cole rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns in 10 carries and scored on a 57-yard punt return to spark the Knights in a nonleague game at Birmingham High.
Cole scored on runs of nine, 29 and three yards in the first half. His three-yard scoring run gave the Knights a 44-0 lead at halftime.
The officials used running time in the second half.
Scott Swenson, who passed for 1,779 yards last season, completed 10 of 13 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, but did not play in the second half.
St. Genevieve, making its debut under Coach Phil Avalos, was held to 48 yards.
Mike Pisano completed only one of 10 passes for 30 yards with three interceptions.
Rick Munoz intercepted two passes and L.A. Baptist forced five turnovers.
