Ventura 32, East Los Angeles 13--The Pirates, behind Travis Rogers’ 167 yards in 31 carries and two touchdowns, overcame a sluggish start in a WSC interdivision game at East L.A.
Trailing, 6-0, Rogers scored Ventura’s first touchdown with 5:35 to go in the first quarter. The Pirates did not trail again and outgained the Huskies, 392-184.
Ventura’s Glen Dudley completed six of 14 passes for 175 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. Derek Swafford had two catches for 119 yards and one touchdown for the Pirates.
