Villa Park Rolls Past Brea Olinda

T.J. Matijevich scored five goals to lead sixth-ranked Villa Park to an 18-3 victory over Brea Olinda in a nonleague water polo game Monday at Brea Olinda.
Junior goalie Jared Jones stopped 12 shots for Villa Park (14-5), which led, 13-1, at the half.
In other nonleague games:
Edison 10, Long Beach Millikan 5--Shaun Carman scored five goals and Todd Ciborowski had three to lead visiting Edison, which led, 6-2, at the half.
Edison improved to 13-9.
Laguna Beach 9, El Dorado 8--El Dorado led by two goals in the fourth quarter, but the Artists outscored the Golden Hawks, 3-0, down the stretch.
Brandon Burdick had two late goals and Tyler Waidley had the other for Laguna Beach.
In Century League girls’ golf:
El Modena 126, Santa Ana Valley 149--Lindsay Broad shot a five-over 36 and Jennie Manzano shot 43 for El Modena (4-8, 2-5) at David L. Baker.
Santa Ana Valley is 4-9, 1-7.
Villa Park 128, Canyon 151--Priscilla Park had three birdies in her round of three-over 39 for Villa Park, which clinched the league title on Green River’s Orange Course. Shelly Raworth shot 40 for the Spartans (13-4, 9-0).
Heather Canada shot 48 to lead Canyon (12-8, 8-2).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Beach 155, Northwood 161--Christina Frances shot 12-over 44 to earn medalist honors for host Laguna Beach (4-9, 3-6) at Aliso Creek.
In nonleague girls’ golf:
Trabuco Hills 135, Foothill 142--Amber Reynolds had a birdie and three pars during her round of four-over 40 for Trabuco Hills at Tijeras Creek.
No. 1 University 124, Laguna Hills 136--Sophomore Angela Won shot a two-over 38 to earn medalist honors for visiting University (13-0) at Laguna Woods.
In Empire League girls’ tennis:
Cypress 17, Century 4--Samantha Waller didn’t lose a game in singles or doubles for Cypress.
Katella 14, Loara 7--Freshman Catherine Ricohermoso swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, to lead visiting Katella (11-7, 5-4).
Loara is 3-6 in league play.
In a nonleague match:
La Habra 14, Valencia 4--Dianne Sonoff swept, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, to lead host La Habra (9-7).
In Serra League girls’ volleyball:
No. 1 Mater Dei 3, Rosary 0--Brigen Molegen had 16 kills for visiting Mater Dei (4-0 in league), which won, 15-5, 15-7, 17-15.
Beth Ludin had five kills and 12 digs for Rosary (5-7, 0-4).
