An ongoing rib injury may sideline New York Yankee right fielder Paul O’Neill for Wednesday’s opening game of the American League championship series. His playing status won’t be determined until game day.
O’Neill sustained the small fracture of the right 10th rib on Oct. 2, but played the first two games against Texas before being rested.
