Alpha League rivals Paraclete and Kilpatrick are one step away from setting up a sequel to last season’s Division XII final.
The Spirits defeated Kilpatrick, 25-14, for their second consecutive section championship and have eliminated the Mustangs from the playoffs three consecutive seasons.
Paraclete (9-3) defeated Kilpatrick, 36-20, last month for the league championship.
Of course, there’s still the matter of advancing past the semifinals, which will be no easy task for either team.
Paraclete (9-3), seeded No. 4, barely escaped with a 35-34 victory over Montclair Prep last week in the quarterfinals and travels to top-seeded Rosamond (12-0) on Friday.
Kilpatrick (8-4) upset No. 3 Mojave, 18-12, last week and plays No. 2 Riverside Notre Dame (11-1) on Saturday at Cerritos Valley Christian.
