* Howe S. Foster has been named vice president and branch manager of the Ventura County office of Daum Commercial Real Estate Services. He has been part of the Daum management team for two years, most recently as branch manager of the San Fernando Valley office.

Daum has moved its Ventura County office to 751 Daily Drive in Camarillo to make room for the company’s continued expansion.

* Kim Weber with the law firm of Norman, Dowler, Sawyer, Israel, Walker & Barton in Ventura has completed the National Assn. of Legal Assistants’ certification exam and may now use the professional designation.

To maintain her title, she must continue to take legal-education courses. Weber has worked as a legal assistant in family and juvenile dependency law for nearly 20 years.

* The law firm of Hatch and Parent, which has a Ventura office, has hired several associate attorneys. The new associates are John D. Bakker, who will work in the public law practice group; Travis Pananides, who will work in the business and tax practice group; Mark A. DePaco, who will work in the real estate and land-use practice group; and Michelle L. Pickett, who will work in the business and tax practice group.

* Chicago Title Western Division honored two Ventura County employees at its Escrow Recognition and Awards dinner. Margaret Murphy, branch manager of the firm’s Simi Valley office, was honored for the most improved revenue in Ventura County, and Lei Selu-Johnson, branch manager of the Port Hueneme office, was recognized for the highest revenue in Ventura County.

* Sima Kelly and Jim Darin have joined Westcord Commercial Real Estate Services of Westlake Village. Kelly will focus on industrial property sales and leasing, and Darin will work in automotive property sales and leasing.

* Ventura Raceway has appointed Ron Barrett as director of marketing and public relations. Prior to this job, he was a director for Database Business Solutions in Ventura.
