‘Anne Frank Superstar’

Despite the uptight review given by Kathy Foley (“New Tragedy Visited Upon Anne Frank,” April 16), I took my teenage daughter to see “Anne Frank Superstar” at the Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica.
A friend told me it was a must-see for adolescent girls in need of a boost of self-esteem and courage.
Maybe Ms. Foley had problems with the play’s decision to take the higher moral ground--let us not cringe just because someone suggests that the culture surrounding the entertainment industry is awash with snake-oil salespeople.
Most of all, I fault Ms. Foley for writing her review of this comedy without prefacing the review with a disclaimer stating “I, Kathy Foley, have absolutely no sense of humor.”
