Web Site Nets Airline Gripes

A new Internet site, which promises to e-mail your travel complaints to appropriate company officials and copy them to the U.S. Department of Transportation, claims to have logged more than 1,000 complaints in its first three weeks of operation. About 95% are airline gripes, said Randy Warren, co-founder of the site, https://www.passengerrights.com.

Warren, who bills the site as “designed to help protect and assist the consumer,” acknowledges he’ll also use it to get subscriptions and story ideas for a new consumer newsletter he’s launching. (The site offers a sample newsletter for $1.) Warren is also part owner of Global Travel International, a controversial (but legal) network that, for a $495 fee, sets up members as “travel agents” to refer travel business to it.
