Seattle Port Lands 2nd Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean International’s Vision of the Seas will sail from Seattle next year, making six trips from two to four nights to Victoria and Vancouver in Canada in May and June 2000. It’s the second cruise line to announce trips from Seattle, following Norwegian, whose Norwegian Sky will sail Alaska’s Glacier Bay and Inside Passage starting next May.
Seattle has courted cruise lines for more than a decade, but until last year’s announcement by Norwegian, it had landed only repositioning cruises. The added ships next year will push the port’s annual passenger visits from 7,000 to 116,000, said spokesman Imbert Matthee.
