Lawrence, Irvine’s top golfer, shot 11-over-par 227 to finish 11th in the Big West Conference tournament last week. The Anteaters finished fourth as a team. Lawrence battled back from a poor first day.

Lawrence was named All-Big West Conference.

THIS WEEK

Track and field: Dedra Butler finished fourth in the javelin with a distance of 120 feet 8 inches Sunday in the Steve Scott Invitational at Irvine. Irvine competes in the Occidental Invitational at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Men’s tennis: Irvine, which lost to New Mexico State in the semifinals of the Big West tournament on April 24, plays at top-ranked UCLA at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Bruins are 21-2. Irvine, ranked 55th, is 15-5.

Women’s soccer: Nicole Bucciarelli, Irvine’s all-time leading goal scorer, has a tryout with Bardolino team in Italy. She leaves Friday. Meanwhile, striker Stephanie Rigamat, who left the team after the season, has transferred to UCLA.

Men’s volleyball: Irvine’s Donnie Rafter was named second-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Assn. Wednesday.

Men’s golf: The Anteaters play in the U.S. Collegiate Friday through Sunday at the Stanford Golf Course.
