Penguins Usher Out Devils, 4-2

Jaromir Jagr is arguably the best hockey player in the world. You won’t get any arguments from the New Jersey Devils.

Jagr sent No. 1-seeded New Jersey to another early playoff exit, leading the No. 8 Penguins to a 4-2 victory over the Devils in Game 7 of their opening-round series Tuesday night at East Rutherford, N.J.

Jagr, who revived the Penguins in Game 6 by returning from a groin injury and scoring the tying goal and the overtime winner, had two assists in the deciding game.

Martin Straka had a goal and two assists, and German Titov, Alexei Kovalev and Jan Hrdina added goals for the Penguins, who had only 13 shots. Pittsburgh plays No. 4 Toronto next. “People judge you by how you play in the playoffs, not the regular season,” Jagr said.
