The City Council will hold a public hearing today to discuss amending obsolete and unclear zoning ordinances. The council will hear residents’ comments and then vote on seven new ordinances that would clarify or delete certain zoning codes. The most significant change would be to increase the minimum width of residential streets from 25 to 32 feet. The code would not apply to existing streets, only new developments. Another amendment would eliminate permits and fees for residents who hold more than one garage sale in a one-year period. The council meets at 7 p.m. in chambers, 401 E. Chapman Ave. Information: (714) 993-8261.
