Public Gets an All-Star Ticket Snub

Because Fenway Park has a capacity of only 33,871, and two-thirds of those seats are sold to season-ticket holders, the Boston Red Sox will not be selling tickets for the All-Star game to the public, the team announced Tuesday.
Said General Manager Dan Duquette: “Our first commitment is to our season-ticket holders. The remainder . . . must be given to major league baseball.”

Left-hander Trevor Wilson, trying to win a job as San Francisco’s fifth starter, was given his outright release by the Giants.
He gave up seven runs in 3 1/3 innings Sunday, and had a spring earned-run average of 12.86.
