The Angels optioned outfielder Norm Hutchins, pitcher Geoff Edsell and catcher Bret Hemphill to triple-A Edmonton and pitchers Ramon Ortiz and Mark Harriger to double-A Erie.
Olivares frustrated Collins in his last outing, walking San Francisco’s Bill Mueller to load the bases for Barry Bonds, who doubled in three runs. But the right-hander showed excellent command in Monday’s 75-pitch outing.
