SCC Advances to NAIA Event

Southern California College beat Azusa Pacific, 61-53, in the Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament final Monday at SCC to qualify for its second consecutive NAIA tournament.
Sara Herkenhoff had 17 points and nine rebounds and Amee Pina had 14 points and five assists for the Vanguards (26-8), who won their 36th consecutive home game.
The NAIA tournament is March 17-23 in Jackson, Tenn. Pairings will be announced Wednesday.
