Sun Valley Poly 59, Jefferson 53--Steve Smith scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to spark the Parrots (17-11) to the Division championship at Loyola Marymount.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
La Puente Bishop Amat 71, Culver City 49--Top-seeded Bishop Amat (26-3), in the finals for the first time after losing in the semifinals the last two seasons, got 21 points from Shannon Wosman and 19 from Allison Box, two seniors who won their 100th career game in II-A.
Palos Verdes Chadwick 59, Covina Western Christian 40--The Dolphins (25-5) used a 14-1 run over the third and fourth quarters to break open a close game and repeat as Division V-AA champions.
