Power Failure Affects Part of Camarillo

A faulty underground cable caused 5,223 customers in eastern Camarillo to lose power early Friday, a utility representative said.
The power went out about 5:10 a.m. between Las Posas Road and Ponderosa Drive and Temple Avenue and Arnell Road, said Ken Perry, a spokesman for Southern California Edison.
Power was restored to all but 40 customers within an hour, Perry said. Those customers had their power back by about 1 p.m.
“It was quite a large section of Camarillo,” Perry said. “Two or three dozen streets were included.”
Cause of the cable failure is under investigation. Edison workers replaced the cable after the outage.
