What’s Positive About Charge in R. Kelly’s Show?
Please remind me one more time why “sexually charged” concerts (R. Kelly at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim) are good for our young people (“A Show With One Thing on Its Mind,” by Natalie Nichols, June 8). Or maybe you can fill me in on how society benefits by allowing impressionable teens to watch R. Kelly persuade a fan to “strip to her underwear and climb into a giant bed with him for some sheet-rumpling.”
Or perhaps you’d care to enlighten a high school teacher like myself on how to explain to my students what they could learn by watching R. Kelly’s “sexual pantomime that included several minutes of rummaging in his pants.” Really! The type of performance you describe is appalling! What a wonderful example for our kids!
